Saman Javed, Lifestyle Writer | September 22, 2021 Just like that, London Fashion Week 2021 is over. After Covid-19 restrictions forced fashion houses to present their upcoming collections virtually in 2020, this year's real-life runways and debuts were highly anticipated.
As designers including Bora Aksu, Mark Fast and Vivienne Westwood returned to the catwalk, so did the fashion pack. Gone are the days of pandemic-era loungewear: front-row attendees were flamboyant as ever, with plenty of knee-high cowboy boots, fluorescent jumpsuits and low-back dresses on display, while models sauntered down runways across the capital in sea-blue sequin gowns, tulle frocks and geometric prints.
Disappointingly, only a handful of designers paid ample attention to one of the most pressing issues of our time – the climate crisis – despite the fact that the industry is responsible for 10 per cent of all global greenhouse emissions.
Elsewhere in the world, fashion also made its return to the red carpet at the 73rd annual Emmy Awards. Yellow proved a popular choice amongst the best-dressed stars of the evening. Anya Taylor-Joy sent the internet into frenzy when she arrived in a butter-yellow haute couture Christian Dior gown, while Emma Corrin divided fans in a Miu Miu cap. And I May Destroy You's Michaela Coel stunned on the red carpet in a sulphur-yellow Christopher John Rogers ensemble, shortly before delivering one of the most moving acceptance speeches in Emmy history.
Until next time, have a fantastic week ahead.

LFW 2021: Sustainability X Fashion Sustainability has been the buzzword in the fashion industry for the last few years. But as London Fashion Week closed out, it became clear that few designers addressed the issue in their new collections. Olivia Petter turns the spotlight on designers who have put the effort into creating sustainable fashion this year, including the likes of Vivienne Westwood and Osman Yousefzada.

It marked the first time the couple posed together formally for a magazine cover shoot, so there was no doubt their outfits would be meaningful. What was the significance behind the colours they wore and the way they posed on the cover? And did Meghan's accessories include a hidden nod to Princess Diana? Kate Ng lays out the meaning of the Sussexes' cover looks.
Time for a boob check According to breast cancer awareness charity CoppaFeel!, young people often don't realise they are at risk of breast cancer, with 5,000 women under the age of 45 diagnosed with it every year in the UK.
