Happy Mother’s Day!

Whenever I think I can gain material advantage, I identify as a woman. This year, I doubled down on my virtue signalling by removing Soviet-era models from general circulation. In other words, I’ve enough excuses to justify this:

I’m also buying British, because it is ex-FROG. I really cut my modelling skills on Novo kits (still unknowing they were FROG - and still assuming FROG was French…) when they appeared in Woolworths in Egham after Airfix imploded. They were relatively cheap at the time, but the decals were dreadful so most kits never advanced from the painting stage. But that is no longer an issue, since I now have enough decals for every P40 flown by the DAF, so I can happily buy cheaper & unwanted Novo stuff  instead of paying silly money for ‘vintage FROG’.

However, this will have to wait.  Joyously gathering my kit stash together prior to hospital, I have touched nothing at all. What I didn’t bargain for is the pain involved trying to ‘sit up’ normally at a table and the constantly wriggling for comfort. Unlike my hernia chair, there is nothing I can do about this so I’m facing another week off work and hobby frustration while the swelling slowly reduces. My boss told me I had been a tad optimistic. Interestingly, my leg has turned from a black pudding colour to a kind of fetching SS autumn camo look… Onwards and upwards.

Equally annoying is Blogger’s rubbish interface. Try as I might, I can neither remove unfollowed, nor add newly followed, blogs to my visible blog list. I suspect this may be better done on a laptop, but as there is no chance I’ll be able to use one this week I’ll shelve this plan for a while.

TTFN!
