Jumping Back In

Hello everyone, I hope you are all well...it's been much too long! Initially I had planned on just dipping my toe into the proverbial waters of blogdom upon my return, but then found after being unintentionally gone for so long there was much too much to share, so I decided to just jump right on in and swim away.
First of all, thank you again so very much for all the kind sentiments concerning my mom & Miss. Ginger, who at this very moment is peacefully dreaming (snoring) away at my feet. It has been a somewhat draining few weeks, with lots of (unexpected) emotional energy expended and my own personal illness (nice surprise that!) to conquer, but both ladies (as well as myself) are doing fairly well now considering...Gitzi especially, Ging is still just a bit on the 'wobbly' side.
Gitzi had had (those two words together always strike me as funny) her second hip replacement (she said it was okay to tell), and we all expected the second one to be as easy-peasy as the first...well, we learned that her first easy-peasy one was abnormal, and that the challenges she faced this go around were more normal. Because of this, I wish I'd been able to stay with her a little longer, but the starting up of my art classes wouldn't allow for it. She truly is coming along nicely though despite my absence, thanks to all of her *wonderful* friends (the German Ladies & the French Chef - he's amazing!).
(Turning ones back legs into drumsticks is bound to cause back issues sooner or later.)
And Ginger...well she started acupuncture treatments and they seem to be helping a tidge. Holding her still for 20 minutes while she looks like a porcupine is quite challenging, but as the little needles work their magic, she starts to calm down and actually gets pretty sleepy. We hope a few more treatments will help her sweet little back and legs return to a glimpse of their former-youthful selves.
(Ahhh...that's more like it, sun patch bathing in a much healthier, comfier...and more lady-like position.)
I myself happened to come home with a very uninvited guest, and have been trying to boot him out ever since. Some little bug attached itself to me just before leaving California and zapped any strength, energy, or gumption I had left in the resevoirs....but now after a minor recuperation of my own, I'm feeling much more like myself again and can thankfully turn my attentions to the stuff of normal life and the things I enjoy most, such as this blog and of course...your special, and very much missed company.
One last thing before I have to run off to class...in my last post, I had put on my largest and rosiest pair of rose colored glasses, and then had waxed poetical about all the luxurious time I thought I would have to visit you dear friends while Gitzi was lounging away in her hospital bed down in the living room recovering from her surgery...HA!...was never so busy, it put my crazy (yet fun) summer camps to shame.
(Such a saint of a daughter ;)
Between spending time at the hospital, helping to get Gitzi's home ready to receive her back, playing hostess to all the kind visitors she had, as well as visiting a few of these gracious visitors (her friends took such great care of me), running every possible errand I could think of for her so she wouldn't have to worry about a thing when I left, and most of all, making sure she didn't try to run a marathon -  as she had the most fantastic pain pills that made her feel like Wonder Woman (good story there for another time)...there was pretty much no time for the luxurious visits with you that I had intended...it kind of makes me laugh now to think of it. One bonus though from all that to and foring was that I lost a few pounds...sweet surprise!
As for my 'little brother' Poppy, he was such a terrific help during it all...and a very nice distraction when things got, shall we say...a touch vexing. Above, he's trying to imitate Miss. Ginger's cute pose from the previous post...nicely done Poppy, I miss you...but I do have that very pretty little scar on my arm as a token to remember you by...thank you peanut!

So...to close, I do apologize for the long 'away', and I am truly look forward to jumping back into, not only my blog-world...but also very much so, yours!
See you soon...♥
