Is Selena Gomez worried about running into Justin Bieber at the upcoming Billboard Music Awards while she's with her new boyfriend, The Weeknd? That's the claim in one of this week's new tabloids, but Gossip Cop has the exclusive truth.
The exes are both nominated for Top Social Artist at the 2017 BBMAs, while Bieber is competing against The Weeknd for Top Artist and Top Male Artist. An alleged "source" now tells Life & Style that Gomez is now in a panic over "juggling her new man and her ex at the same event." The outlet's dubious insider further purports that Gomez "doesn't want to rub" her new relationship in Bieber's face, so she's "freaking out about how awkward it will be."
Only, there's one major flaw with the tabloid's story. Gossip Cop is told by a source close to Bieber that he won't even be attending the BBMAs because he'll be busy traveling for his Purpose World Tour. Regardless, a mutual friend of ours and Gomez similarly tells us she was never worried about the possibility of seeing her ex-boyfriend at the event.
It should be noted, this isn't the first time Life & Style has arbitrarily dragged a former lover into Gomez and The Weeknd's relationship. We previously busted the magazine for wrongly reporting Gomez threatened to dump The Weeknd for texting ex-girlfriend Bella Hadid. We also debunked the publication's fictional cover story claiming Gomez was marrying The Weeknd after becoming pregnant with his baby. Obviously, the outlet has proven to be an unreliable source for accurate reporting about the couple.
