The hairstylist behind the look, Tym Wallace, recently spoke to Essence magazine on how he achieved the look for Zendaya. He started by shampooing and conditioning the hair with Dove's Intensive Repair Line for dryness. He also used Dove's Dry Shampoo to prevent frizz.

For the curls, he used a FHI curling iron to make the curls, then he brushed the curls using a Mason Pearson and give the hair definition.
If you don't want to use heat to achieve this look, you can use flexi rods, or perm rods and let the hair air dry.
